Welcome! I’m Shawn Stützner, a pastoral counselor and church leader with over two decades of experience in ministry, community building, and pastoral care.
My journey has taken me from leading worship teams and congregations to offering clinical pastoral counselling and mentoring students in a university setting.
My passion lies in nurturing spiritual growth, providing compassionate support, and fostering environments where people feel seen, heard, and valued.
Worship Manager
Vineyard Christian Fellowship, (1999–2000)
My journey began in worship management, where I organized and led worship services to create meaningful and uplifting experiences for the congregation. This early role sparked my passion for connecting people to their faith through collective worship.
Lead Pastor
Vangelo Kingdom Fellowship (2004–2008)
As a founding pastor, I helped build a vibrant and diverse church community centered on well-being, community outreach, and impactful preaching. Here, I honed my skills in church growth, administration, and community dynamics while fostering a supportive and spiritually nourishing environment.
Pastor, Preacher, Pastoral Care
City Life Church(2009–2014)
During my time at City Life Church, I designed and delivered sermon series, discipleship programs, and community outreach initiatives. I also led specialised ministries, including men’s fellowship forums, business breakfasts, and youth and young adult programs. My focus was on creating inclusive opportunities for spiritual growth and connection for members of all ages and backgrounds.
Clinical Pastoral Care
Promise Therapy (2015–2020)
I transitioned into clinical pastoral care, providing counselling to individuals facing chronic and terminal illnesses, addiction, and mental health challenges. Through spiritual assessments and holistic care, I helped many individuals find peace and strength in their faith during difficult times. This role deepened my understanding of the connection between spirituality and mental health, allowing me to offer more profound and empathetic support.
Residence Head and Campus Dialogues Coordinator
University of the Free State (2017–2020)
At the University of the Free State, I led initiatives to promote intercultural and multicultural understanding, conflict resolution, and emotional support within student communities. I facilitated dialogues and group interventions to help local and international students navigate challenges and build a sense of belonging. Working with a diverse group of students and staff, I developed programs that fostered respect, peace, and personal growth across campus.
Christian Counsellor and Founder
Private Practice, Germany (2020–Present)
Since 2020, I have been leading my own counselling practice in Germany, working with individuals and couples to navigate life's challenges, find healing, and reconnect with their faith. Drawing from my pastoral and clinical background, I offer a holistic approach to counselling that integrates spiritual wisdom with compassionate guidance. My practice has grown into a trusted space where clients feel safe to explore their faith, overcome personal struggles, and find purpose and peace in their daily lives. Helping people discover resilience and renewal through Christian counselling has been one of the most fulfilling chapters of my journey.
